This is a sculpture I did for my 3D design 2 class, It is made out of packaging tape.
First you get a model, mine was a girl. Then you take the tape and wrap it around a body part such as the arm, sticky side up, you don't want it to stick to the person. You make two layers sticky side up, and then two layers sticky side down. Then to get it off you cut it along one side, or more depending on the body part, we used those wierd envelope opener thingys, and they worked great, you just had to make sure not to break them, because they are just flimsy plastic. Then, once it is off the model, you tape it back together! and you tape all the parts together when you are done. The head is the hardest part, for you and the model (it isn't very nice from what I hear). Mine was a girl, so she had to put her hair in a bun, and then you cover her head in syran wrap, well just her hair and eyes. Then you start taping, except the mouth which you can cover later, you can't suffocate them! You have to use small strips around the nose and stuff, otherwise you won't get the right shape.
We displayed ours at the school library, originally mine was sitting in a chair but had to be moved for the art show (to where it is in this picture) but now it is on top of a bookcase (because people won't stop touching it!) It is still there, and I don't know who gets to keep it yet.....me or the model, personally I think I should get it since I made it, but you never know what will happen.

DeviantART has partnered with FAIR to help promote equality through The Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project. We're asking deviants to align themselves with this cause and have their work judged by Shepard Fairey himself!
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
